For over 100 years the Goldschmidt Company has been committed to the welding of railway tracks. Beginning with the Thermit^® welding process, many procedures for continuously welding tracks together have been developed over the years, and now include methods for welding: conventional, grooved, and heavy section rail-profiles.

In 1999 all 20 subsidiary businesses were consolidated to establish Goldschmidt Thermit Group, to further support the growing market for rail-based transportation infrastructure. With a worldwide network of manufacturing, sales, Research and Development, customer support and ancillary rail services, the Group is recognized as a highly competent partner for the international rail market.
