The pre-requisite for the operational safety of continuously welded rails and the passenger comfort connected
with them is an optimal rail profile and track bed. Assessment of continuously joined rails is possible on the
basis of the values generated by our measuring equipment.
In order to keep maintenance costs low and increase traveling comfort at the same time, careful checking of the
longitudinal rail profiles at regular intervals, as well as after grinding the rails, is absolutely necessary.
For this purpose, we supply different electric straight edges which are each designed for special uses. All of the
equipment allows for direct reading of measured values, saving the results, and further processing and documentation
by computer.
Correct performance of closure welding, as well as the re-establishment of the original internal tension
(SFT) is only possible with the help of devices for measuring rail temperature. Our digital and analog rail
thermometers are especially suited for these purposes.
Measuring devices for high temperature and special applications
For high temperature applications, such as measuring and documenting temperatures during welding,
special measuring equipment is available or can be developed to customer’s requirements.
